Working with LanguageBook Data

The LanguageBook is an official list of languages used by the Church. When you specify a language for an asset, the list of languages that appears comes from the LanguageBook. There are three types of users for LanguageBook.

  • Nuxeo users will be able to view approved languages in the Domain section, such as to look up the correct ISO code or other metadata for a language.
  • Language administrators add or edit items in the LanguageBook.
    • Correlation Language Administrators: Add new languages and edit language metadata, such as updating the status or phase of a language.
    • LanguageBook Administrators: Review, edit, and approve updates for languages in the LanguageBook.
    • Nuxeo Language Administrators: Can do all the functions, as needed.
  • Software developers may access LanguageBook through API calls to copy language metadata to other systems.

There is a URL to go directly to the Language Book, if needed: langbook.churchofjesuschrist.org
